[After getting changed, and maybe some other distractions, Fukuda shows up at the bar about 5 or 10 minutes later than what he said? It's fine. Hopefully the alcohol means Steven hung around to wait anyway.]
Ah, sorry for keeping you. The people are quite colorful, aren't they? [Seems he might've been waylaid.]
[ Steven's on time, if not a little early as he typically tends to do. He's re-dressed in a sharp suit and tie as well as dress shoes, all traces of his entrance uniform now gone. He did indeed spend some time perusing through the drinks made available, which according to his assessment, seemed positively endless. There was something for everybody. ]
Not an issue, I've been busying myself by investigating and having a chat or two as well. Haven't noticed any significant trends in things we have in common, other than what I assume is our base motivation.
[That wish, desire, whatever you want to call it.]
[Dressed to the nines... Fukuda meanwhile, is just dressed in a faintly disheveled dress shirt, no tie, but with suspenders holding up his pants. And some lace up boots? It's a strange look.]
Well, there might be some smaller trends among the ones who have the same marks on their hands. I've noticed a few of them going around, and I know I saw at least one that's the same as mine. [He holds out his hand to display the green Envy mark.]
Thought that Welcome message... made it sound like they picked their "team" at random.
[ In his defense -- not any odder than the people Steven works with dresses. At least you don't look like a fashion clown.
Fair is fair, so Steven shows Fukuda his own -- a deep blue mark that matches his undershirt, in sharp contrast with the red tattoos he already seems to have on his neck. Colour theme on point. ]
I've yet to meet anyone else with the same look. [ He smiles. ] By "teams", do you suppose we'll have to face off at some point?
[ After Steven receives the text, he hangs around the area as planned around his originally requested time. He doesn't pace or anything, but the way he's got his arms crossed, brows furrowed and a hard look in his eye as he watches people mill about is telling about there being something on his mind.
He glances up as Fukuda arrives, and -- uh? ...He supposes he should address the elephant in the room before anything else. ]
...So, that wouldn't happen to be yours, would it?
[ Steven's back at it again with the investigations. Today, he's in the Opium Den, just standing around the shelves and turning over a brick of opium in his hand, the instructional book in the other. He's just got a furrowed expression as he reads through the damn thing. ]
Now this is something... [ He mutters, more accidentally out loud than really all that purposefully. ]
[ For a moment, it looks like Steven was about to smash this opium brick right into his face. He just manages to stop himself, and you should be grateful. He's been on edge, though less so today. His brows immediately furrow at the other. ]
Oh, it's you. [ The hell kind of greeting is that? ] ...Weird seeing it next to a tea room and a circus of all things, isn't it.
[You know what I'm going to say the cummulative effect of all of my bar-set PCs are that Fukuda is now found lying on one of the common room couches, at his sad doggest, and flags Steven down when he spots him.]
Steven, Steven come here and sit. [He... probably does not have anything useful to say?]
If only we could turn you into that Brilliant Detective, hm?
Though, yeah. It seems that even though the pieces are there, they don't seem to be forming any kind of clear picture. Not last week, not this week, even with two victims.
[Fukuda is just hobbling around with bloodstains in his clothes but it's fine probably? He wanders into the Simulations Room when he sees Steven, and stops short in the doorway.]
Steven's just kind of standing by the podium in Simulations. The room is currently a recreation of the Libra office, all nice sunshine and green plants. He doesn't look up at Fukuda when he enters, he's had enough of this memshare bullshit. ]
Can't believe literally dying by having his face fucking bashed in by a shovel isn't grounds to relieve him from the troubles that is Weekly Effects. And boy, he does not feel great! His combination of primary indulgence (Despair) plus his supposed subindulgences leaking out makes him a restless and angry, pent-up person, all of which he will now proceed to aggressively ignore by way of just lying down in his chosen residential building room on the hard-ass bed, sleeping it away.
Unfortunately, there are only so many hours in a row you can sleep consecutively, and so he's just been stuck staring at the ceiling. Hate it. ]
[Fukuda was being polite, not intruding. Steven should be allowed to sleep, after all. He has had a rough go of it. But at a certain point he has to peek in, and it's then he sees that Steven is in fact awake, so he slinks in, practically colapsing onto the floor by the side of Steven's bed, arms and head resting on the bed at Steven's side.
He doesn't say anything. He just looks up at Steven with his sad dog eyes.]
Steven just. Closes his eyes. But he feels that stare. And eventually he will, with great reluctance, turn his face and stare back at Fukuda with a decidedly comparatively less sad look.
In a lot of ways, Steven really does look like some kind of man fallen from grace, going from snappy and smiles in a suit to constant grimacing in a threadbare grey hoodie. Everything is so uncomfortable. ]
[ Steven's got a bit of a change of clothes compared to the morning and is returning back to the residential building. When he happens to just see Fukuda there...
Normally, he'd just ignore him and keep moving on, but he just looks at him today and raises a brow. ]

WEEK 1, WEDNESDAY.
Now this is something... [ He mutters, more accidentally out loud than really all that purposefully. ]

[And also very illegal. Anyway Fukuda has accidentally snuck up on Steven?]

Oh, it's you. [ The hell kind of greeting is that? ] ...Weird seeing it next to a tea room and a circus of all things, isn't it.

Well.... I'm fairly certain those would be popular locations in this time period too. Don't you think?

week 1 saturday post trial
Steven, Steven come here and sit.
[He... probably does not have anything useful to say?]
no subject
Steven sees him as he's walking past, and just stares down at him. Is he laying face down? ]
Wow, this is the most depressing I've seen you yet. Trying to catch some Despair indulgences?

Ah, maybe... I just keep thinking... wondering if we're not meant to solve these cases.
